For the opening season concert, music of the Renaissance is in the spotlight. Flûte Alors! joins forces with the talented soprano Hélène Brunet, known for the sumptuous beauty and sincere expression of her voice. Throughout the evening, Italian and English songs and madrigals of the 16th century will be accompanied by the warm and intimate sonorities of the Renaissance consort.
Through their masterful technique and extraordinary musicality, Flûte Alors! presents the recorder as an eloquent instrument capable of expressing the most extreme emotions and the subtlest of nuances, as showcases the program Kaleidoscope.
Flûte Alors! and Pentaèdre, Montreal’s celebrated wind quintet, present an off-the-wall cabaret evening with all nine musicians in all sorts of improbable instrumental formations. Flûte Alors! and Pentaèdre collaborate and alternate to perform works by Darius Milhaud, Clément Doucet, Erik Satie and Kurt Weill. This special occasion is marked by several new arrangements, created just for this novel gathering.
Flûte Alors!’s classy yet casual programme Bach’n’Jazz pairs masterpieces by the great Johann Sebastian Bach with popular jazz standards.
