    • Bach’n’Jazz

    Flûte Alors!’s classy yet casual programme Bach’n’Jazz pairs masterpieces by the great Johann Sebastian Bach with popular jazz standards. Throughout the concert, Flûte Alors! introduces the audience to the wide variety of sounds of the recorder quartet, from the blended organ-like tones of Bach to the contemporary percussive effects in jazz. Featured works include original arrangements of the celebrated Toccata & Fugue in D minor (BWV 538) and Passacaglia & Fugue in G minor (BWV 582) by Bach, and well-loved jazz standards Fly Me to the Moon and Autumn Leaves.  Bach’n’Jazz embarks on an eclectic voyage that traverses the ages, offering a bouquet of sonorities and a palette of colours to the delight of every audience.

    Canadian Connection VI

    Concert with Pro Coro Canada. 

    Fascinating new works including The Nightingale, a stand-out composition by Grammy nominated Uģis Prauliņš. This virtuoso work for recorder quartet and 20 part choir will be the highlight of the program. Our guest is Flute Alors!, the only professional recorder quartet in Canada. This unique combination of instruments and voices has inspired new Canadian works which will also be featured on the program.

    Stormy Weather

    In the heart of winter, Flûte Alors! invites you to a most tempestuous evening! The winds and storms have inspired composers’ imaginations throughout time. In this concert, the elements are unleashed in works by Blow, Purcell and Vivaldi, and take jazz and contemporary repertoire by storm. Join these fearless musicians and confront the wind, snow, rain and freezing rain – with the hope that the calm comes after the storm!
